Gaskamp's to save the day!!

I will have a night camping with my awesome family on July 19! This will replace Charleston West Virginia and split up my drive to Lexington.

So that leaves Myrtle Beach and Memphis. Anyone have any suggestions on places to stay while I'm there? Just one night and close to neat stuff.

Additions

Well after talking to Granny Jackie here in Victoria, we both agree that 10 hours driving at once isn't very smart for a single woman. So I've added in 1night stays in Myrtle Beach SC, Charelston WV, and Memphis TN.

Hadn't budgeted the monies for these stays so I'm a little stressed about funds, but oh well. You can't spend money when you're dead. Might as well spend it now!

Let the Packing Begin...

Well, I bit the bullet and got new tires. It's safer anyways, right?

Well, today I officially started packing for my trip. Mostly the nick-nack stuff I wont need between now and then. I'm getting really excited (leave a week from Monday) and a touch of nervous. I hope I dont get all the way away from home and get home sick. I doubt that'll happen because I have such cool stuff planned. But we'll see. I'm looking forward to my time away, hopefully taking care of myself and figuring more stuff out about my life.

Of course there is the opporutnity to meet new people along the way. That is another reason why I'm looking forward to this trip. I love meeting new people and making new friends. Such cool stories and life lessons learned that way.


Anywho, back to the packing lists!

Question for the masses?

My car currently has 41K miles on it. I do know I will want to get new tires around 45K. Do I wait to get the new tires AFTER my trip or bite the bullet early and get them prior to? My trip (on average) will be around 3K. So I will still come back around 45K time. And in a pinch I could purchase them on the road if I must... thoughts?

Secondly, I have a massive crack in my windshield. Do I pay the $150 ahead of time to get it fixed, or wait until after the trip to make sure I dont get another on on a new windshield?

It all started with an idea...

It all started with an idea, maybe even a dream to travel Europe by myself in the near future. However, I don't think it would be very safe for me to spend a month or so by myself in a foreign country without having done it in my native country. So on July 2, me myself and I will be hitting the happy trail to travel the Eastern US. Me in my car with fun stops along the way.

July 2-4 : Lake Charles LA
July 4-6: Biloxi\Mobile
July 6-9: Huntsville Alabama
July 9-13: Atlanta (area)
July 13-19: Winterville NC and Fairfax VA
July 19-22: Lexington KY
July 22-24: Ft. Smith\Norman
July 24-25: Dallas-FW\ Houston

So starting now I will be mapping out my way and getting myself packed. During my trip I will be updating everyone back home on my adventures on here, so keep checking back!
